To change our mind, we begin by cultivating a strong intention to not harm any living being; furthermore, we develop loving kindness and compassion and base all our actions on that. With that as a foundation, one engages in introductory and extraordinary methods of practice with ease and little difficulty.

Katog Jampel Sungling
Buddhist Center of Learning and Language
Developed under the guidance of Khentrul Lodrö Thayé Rinpoche, Katog Jampel Sungling provides a supportive environment for learning, contemplating, and meditating upon the sacred Buddhadharma. Throughout the year, we bring Khentrul Lodrö Thayé Rinpoche and other Buddhist teachers to our community. We also offer introductory language courses on classical literary Tibetan.
Group Practice
As a means to support the community of practitioners in Flagstaff, we offer a group meditation session once a week and show the broadcast of Khentrul Rinpoche's monthly webcast teaching. The group practice not only helps strengthen our community, but also gives us an opportunity to cultivate love, compassion, and wisdom in accordance with our Buddhist tradition, which can be traced back in an unbroken lineage to the time of the Buddha.
Our Center
Our center is located in Flagstaff, Arizona, in the Knoles Village Shopping Center. If you are interested in upcoming events or weekly group practice, call our office at 928.526.5007 or sign up for our e-mail list.

Manjushri
Buddha of Enlightened Speech
Jampel Sungling translates from the Tibetan as The Place of Manjushri’s Speech. Manjushri is known as the Buddha of Wisdom. He holds a sword in his right hand, which symbolizes wisdom’s ability to cut through ignorance; and in his left hand he holds a prajnaparamita text, which explains the way in which sublime knowing or wisdom is perfected. Traditionally in Tibet, Buddhist scholars and practitioners recite his heart-essence mantra to increase intelligence and wisdom.
